Welcome to my travel blog, where today we will travel to one of the most sacred and historic cities in India - Dwarika. In this post, I will share my experiences and insights from my travels in this fascinating city. From the iconic Dwarkadhish Temple to charming local markets, I'll explore all the must-sees and hidden gems that make Dwarika a truly unique place. We will start this journey from Dakor. Dakor himself has a close relationship with Dwarika. Aa Bane Yatra Dham is intertwined with Lord Shri Krishna. One has become famous in the name of Dwarikadhish and the other Ranchodrai. Aa Bane is an extremely important pilgrimage destination for Vaishnavas.

About Dwarka
Dwarka is located in the state of Gujarat, known as one of the seven oldest cities in the country, one of the four holiest sites of Hinduism. According to history, Dwarka was the capital of Lord Krishna's ancient kingdom. The city is famous for its temple, Dwarkadhish Mandir, dedicated to Lord Krishna. It is believed to have been established 5000 years ago. The present Dwarkadhish temple was built in the 16th century. The city is also known for its unique architecture, culture and traditional crafts, making it an important tourist destination in India.

How will we go?
To reach Dwarka from Dakor, you can use one of the following modes of transport: The distance from Dakor to Dwarka is about 493 km.
By Bus: Bus is the fastest and most convenient way to reach Dwarka from Dakor. There are regular government (GSRTC Government Bus) and private buses that ply from Dakor to Dwarka, which takes around 9 to 11 hours. https://www.gsrtcbus.in/ By going to this link you can see the bus time-table and GSRTC also provides the facility of bus reservation.
The train: You can also take train from Dakor to Dwarka. The nearest railway station to Dwarka is Dwarka Railway Station, which is well connected to major cities in India. It takes about 5-6 hours by train from Dakor to Dwarka. You can check Indian Railways website or IRCTC website for latest train schedule and seat availability. Car: If you prefer a more comfortable journey, you can hire a car or taxi from Dakor to Dwarka. The drive takes around 6-7 hours depending on traffic conditions.
Airway : There is no direct flight from Dakor to Dwarka. But the nearest airport to Dakor is Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, which is approximately 70 km from Dakor. From Ahmedabad, you can take a flight to Dwarka, which has its own airport, Jamnagar Airport, located in Jamnagar, about 135 km from Dwarka city.
Whichever mode of transport you choose, it is recommended to plan your journey in advance to avoid any inconvenience, especially during the peak tourist season.

Dwarka has many famous tourist attractions, including the following.
🚩 Dwarkadhish Temple:This temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and also known as Jagat Mandir. It is a five-storied structure with a pyramid-shaped roof built in the Nagar style and is considered one of the seven holiest places of worship for Hindus. The temple is known for its intricate carvings, beautiful architecture and daily rituals that attract thousands of devotees.
🚩 Bat Dwarka:The island is located off the coast of Dwarka and is believed to be the original abode of Lord Krishna. It is a popular pilgrimage site and accessible by ferry (Boat Ride). Visitors can explore the many temples and ashrams on the island and also enjoy activities like swimming, fishing and boating.
🚩 Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple: The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples in India. The temple is known for its beautiful carvings.
🚩 Gomti Ghat:One visits this place to take holy bath and pray in river Gomti.
🚩 Rukmini Temple: This temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna's wife Rukmini. It is located near the Dwarkadhish Temple and is known for its beautiful architecture and daily rituals.
🚩 Beta Beach:This popular beach near Dwarka is known for its scenic beauty and clean sand. Visitors can enjoy activities like sunbathing, swimming and fishing. The beach can watch the sunset and enjoy the spectacular views of the Arabian Sea.
🚩 Apart from these attractions, Dwarka also has many other temples, Shankaracharya Ashram and cultural sites which are worth visiting for those interested in Hindu culture and history.

When will you Go
The most popular time to visit is between October and March when the weather is pleasant, with cool sea breezes and days are bright and sunny. However, the city is also crowded during this time, so if you prefer a more relaxed experience you may want to consider visiting in the off-season.

You can proceed in your journey in two ways. On the southern route you can visit Nageshwar Mahadev (which is located in the middle of a natural forest), Porbandar Gandhi Temple, Harshad Bhavani Temple, Somnath, Junagadh, Girnar and Gir Forest. In the northern route you can choose the route of Rajkot, Gondal, Virpur, Chotila. Generally: While returning people choose the southern route to visit the entire Saurastra.

The distance is about 235 km, the journey takes 4 hours.
